You shall be changed into a different person… - Apostle Emmanuel Quaye (Pentecost Week 2024)

During the National Service of the 2024 Pentecost Week, the National Head, Apostle Emmanuel Quaye shared a message on the theme, “You shall be changed into a different person,” drawn from 1 Samuel 10:6B. He highlighted a deeper essence of Pentecost, not merely as a period of celebration but as an important time to seek a genuine encounter with the Holy Spirit.

Apostle Quaye began by likening our gathering to the disciples in the Upper Room, awaiting the Holy Spirit’s touch. He explained that fundamentally, the Holy Spirit’s purpose is to transform us. He used the story of Saul as an example that his encounter with the Holy Spirit was so profound that those around him literally noticed the change. He, Saul, encountered his transformation on the road to Damascus, and went on to become the great Apostle Paul. He also referenced Peter, a fisherman whose life took a remarkable turn after meeting Jesus, showing excellence in his trade and ministry. Additionally, he cited the stories of Zacchaeus and the Samaritan woman, both of whom experienced life-changing encounters with Jesus. These stories show that God’s call and transformation prepare us for divine purposes, bringing us closer to Him and aligning us with our destiny.

Expanding on the transformational power of the Holy Spirit, Apostle Quaye emphasized that this change goes beyond external manifestations such as speaking in tongues. He mentioned that true transformation begins from within; it’s an internal renewal that outwardly manifests through our actions and interactions.

Concluding his message, Apostle Quaye urged the congregation to become instruments of peace as evidenced in Ephesians 4:3. He highlighted that a life transformed by the Holy Spirit naturally bears fruits of peace and unity, as seen in the early church, where believers shared their lives and resources in harmony.

As we reflect on Apostle Quaye’s teachings, let us strive to become agents of peace, transforming our world by allowing God’s spirit to work through us, making us effective in all our endeavors. Join us as we continue to seek a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit throughout this Pentecost week, anticipating that each one of us will emerge as a testament to the transformative power of God’s Spirit.
