Seeking the King of Glory: Apostle Emmanuel A. Quaye's Sermon Overview

During the November-December Mega Vigil which was part of activities for the 2023 Pre-Christmas Convention, Apostle Emmanuel A. Quaye, the National Head delivered an enlightening sermon titled "Seeking the King of Glory" taken from Matthew 2:1-12. His words delved into the narrative of the wise men seeking the newborn King, Jesus Christ, emphasizing the vital attributes required in our quest to seek the King of Glory.

Key Insights from the Sermon

1. The Wisemen's Quest:

   - Hailing from distant lands comparable to modern-day Iran, the wise men embarked on a journey guided by a special star. Their recognition of the star's significance as a prophetic sign of the King of Glory's birth mirrored the biblical prophecy by Ballam (Numbers 24:17).

   - Despite initially following the star, they deviated from divine guidance upon arriving in Judea, relying on human logic. This shift led them to Herod's palace, straying from the star's intended path.

2. Dangers of Human Distraction:

   - Herod's tyranny and obsession with power showcased the perilous nature of relying on human wisdom, potentially leading us astray. The Wisemen's dialogue with Herod illustrates the pitfalls of divulging our divine pursuits to distractions.

3. Seekers' Attributes:

   - Humility: The Wisemen humbly bowed before the infant King, signifying reverence and humility in seeking divinity.

   - Sacrifice: Their arduous journey symbolizes sacrificial commitment in the quest for the King of Glory, echoed in their offering of prophetic gifts.

   - Timeliness: Their timely arrival not only acknowledged God's divine plan but also aided in the protection of the infant King.

   - Discernment: The Wisemen faced conflicting voices but chose to heed the still small voice of the Lord, emphasizing the importance of discernment in navigating distractions.

4. Intentionality and Determination:

   - The narrative of the woman with the 12-year issue of blood resonates with the Wisemen's intentional pursuit, emphasizing determination despite potential risks.

In Conclusion:

Apostle Quaye's sermon emphasizes that as Christians, we carry within us a divine essence akin to a royal star. It urges perseverance in seeking the King of Glory, embracing humility, determination, attentive listening, and unwavering resolve. Embracing these qualities opens the path to divine encounters and experiences of grace.
